Billionaire Gautam Singhania Announces Separation From Wife

Billionaire Gautam Singhania revealed on Monday that he and his wife Nawaz have decided to part ways, marking a significant change in their lives. The 58-year-old chairman and managing director of Raymond Ltd., a conglomerate spanning textiles to real estate, shared the news on social media, stating that this Diwali holds a different significance.

Singhania, who had tied the knot with Nawaz Modi in 1999, expressed gratitude for their 32 years together as a couple and parents. The decision to separate comes after years of commitment and the addition of their two children, Niharika and Nisa, to their lives.

While Singhania did not delve into the specifics of the separation or custody arrangements, he acknowledged the challenges posed by unfounded rumors surrounding their personal lives. “I am parting ways with her while we continue to do what is the best for our two precious diamonds Niharika and Nisa,” he stated.

In a plea for privacy and understanding, Singhania emphasized the importance of respecting their personal decisions. He concluded by seeking well-wishes for the entire family during this challenging time.

Coincidentally, just before announcing the separation, Singhania had shared details about Raymond Group’s real estate expansion in Mumbai. The conglomerate secured three new projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, projecting a combined revenue potential of over ₹5,000 crore (USD 678 million).

Gautam Singhania, known for his adventurous spirit akin to his aviator father Vijaypat, has faced public attention previously, particularly in a well-publicized feud with his father a couple of years ago. Vijaypat Singhania founded the Raymond Group, a prominent name in India’s apparel and textile industry, with Gautam diversifying the group’s interests to broaden its revenue streams.
