Realme Is Set To Name Former Samsung India Executive T M Narasimhan as India MD: Sources

In a strategic move, Realme is poised to appoint T M Narasimhan, a former executive from market leader Samsung India, as the Managing Director for its India operations, according to industry insiders. Sources indicate that Narasimhan will report directly to Realme’s founder and CEO, Sky Li.

Taking the reins from co-founder and CEO Madhav Sheth, who departed in June 2023, Narasimhan is expected to play a pivotal role in steering Realme’s operations in India. He will collaborate closely with the company’s headquarters in China, essentially becoming the face of the brand in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.

Narasimhan, a seasoned professional with a decade-long tenure at Samsung India, recently resigned as a director, where he was overseeing direct-to-consumer e-commerce for the Korean smartphone giant, sources revealed.

Despite attempts to reach Narasimhan for comment, there has been no response to text messages and calls. Realme India has not officially confirmed his appointment at the time of this report.

This development coincides with Realme’s ongoing recruitment efforts for various positions. Sudhanshu Raj was recently appointed as the Chief Operating Officer for Realme India.

Following Madhav Sheth’s departure in June, the company has been under the management of the Chinese leadership, with Indian employees functioning as ‘partners’ to the overall management structure.
