Mumbai Police Closes Rape Case Against JSW Chairman Sajjan Jindal, Finding Allegations False

JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jindal has been cleared of rape allegations by the Mumbai police, who closed the case on Saturday. They filed a closure report, stating that the complaint against him was false. The police said the complainant didn’t cooperate with the investigation and didn’t provide any evidence. She also didn’t give her statement before a magistrate. It was found during the probe that the complainant and her mother were arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police on charges of blackmail, cheating, and forgery in February.

JSW chairman Sajjan Jindal and his wife Sangita, along with senior executives and hotel staff, provided statements during the investigation. The complaint alleged that Jindal sexually assaulted her at a Mumbai office complex and a five-star hotel in January 2022. However, Jindal claimed that their meetings were related to a property he was considering buying in Dubai. The court is yet to make a decision on the matter.
