Indian stock market: NSE, BSE shut today on account of Good Friday

Today, March 29th, 2024, the stock market in India is closed because of Good Friday. This means trading at both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) won’t happen. Also, trading in currency derivatives is suspended for the Mahashivratri festival.

Regarding commodities, trading is also closed at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and the National Commodity Exchange (NCDEX) for both sessions.

In March 2024, there were three holidays: on the 8th for Mahashivratri, the 25th for Holi, and today, the 29th, for Good Friday. The next holiday is on April 11th for Eid-Ul-Fitr or Ramadan.

Normally, the stock market opens at 9:15 AM and closes at 3:30 PM. Pre-open session starts at 9:00 AM. In the commodity market, trading starts at 9:00 AM with sessions in the morning and evening. The morning session ends at 5:00 PM, while the evening session ends at 11:30 PM.
