Amul Milk Prices Increase by ₹2 Per Litre from June 3

Amul milk prices are set to increase by ₹2 per litre across all variants starting June 3 due to rising production and operational costs, announced the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF).

Jayen Mehta, MD of GCMMF, stated that the price hike is necessary to compensate farmers for their increased production costs. This is the first price increase since February 2023.

The new prices will be ₹36 for 500 ml of Amul buffalo milk, ₹33 for 500 ml of Amul Gold milk, and ₹30 for 500 ml of Amul Shakti milk.

GCMMF highlighted that this price hike, translating to a 3-4% increase in MRP, is lower than the average food inflation rate. The organization emphasized that 80 paise of every rupee paid by consumers goes directly to the milk producers. The price revision aims to sustain fair milk prices for producers and encourage higher milk production.
