Wipro Hydraulics Unveils ₹250 Cr Manufacturing Facility in Jaipur; Azim Premji Leads Inauguration

Wipro Hydraulics has opened its sixth manufacturing plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with an investment of about ₹250 crore. The new facility was inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Wipro Enterprises Chairman Azim Premji, and Pratik Kumar, who is the CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and MD of Wipro Enterprises.

The company has invested approximately ₹250 crore in this facility, which is expected to create around 400 jobs. Currently, the plant can produce 1,000 hydraulic cylinders daily, with the capacity to double production if demand increases, according to Kumar.

This is Wipro’s sixth facility in India, following two units each in Chennai and Hindupur, and one in Bengaluru. The Jaipur plant will serve both domestic and international markets.

Wipro Hydraulics, a part of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, focuses on manufacturing hydraulic cylinders and components. The plant aims to improve product quality, productivity, and cost efficiency through a trained workforce and automation.

Kumar emphasized that all machinery used at the facility is made in India, and the company handles 100% of its assembly, manufacturing, testing, and packaging in-house. The Jaipur plant, which began operations in May 2024, currently employs 166 staff members.

Wipro Hydraulics is confident about its global standing, aiming to be among the top three hydraulics manufacturers worldwide. Recent acquisitions of companies like Mailhot, JARP, and Columbus have strengthened its market position.

The company designs and manufactures custom hydraulic cylinders for various industries, including construction, earthmoving, material handling, forestry, agriculture, mining, and truck tipping solutions. It serves major OEMs like JCB, Tata Hitachi, Mahindra and Mahindra, Hyundai, Volvo, and Epiroc.

Wipro Hydraulics’ President, Sitaram Ganeshan, expressed optimism about the growing demand for construction equipment in India, which has been increasing by more than 20% over the past two years. He projects that by 2030, India will become the second-largest construction equipment manufacturing industry in the world.

With the addition of this new facility, Wipro Hydraulics now operates 16 manufacturing plants globally, including locations in India, Europe, the USA, and Brazil.
