Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has acquired a majority stake in Ebco Private Limited, a top Indian company in the furniture fittings and architectural hardware industry, the company announced on Friday.
Sources estimate that the deal values Ebco between ₹3,000-₹3,200 crore. The original founders will keep a significant minority stake and remain actively involved in the company’s future growth.
Established in 1963, Ebco is one of India’s oldest brands in its sector, based in Mumbai. The company offers a wide range of products, including bed and wardrobe fittings, kitchen systems, office furniture fittings, window and door hardware, and furniture lights.
Geoffrey Nagpal, Managing Director of Ebco, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it will help the company leverage industry growth and expand its presence across India.
Anish Saraf, Managing Director of Warburg Pincus India, added that the Indian furniture fittings and architectural hardware market is set for significant growth, driven by rising real estate demand, increased modular furniture usage, and more home renovations.
