Vodafone Idea (Vi) is boosting its network capabilities in Punjab and Haryana by introducing L900 and L2100 spectrum. This upgrade aims to strengthen indoor network connectivity for users across both states. According to a recent statement, Vi plans to enhance coverage in urban areas with dense building structures, as well as in suburban and rural regions where signal strength can be challenging.
Strategic Prioritization Post-Fundraising
After a successful Rs 18,000 crore follow-on public offer, Vi has prioritized these regions for network enhancement. Punjab and Haryana are crucial markets for Vi, where it holds significant revenue share. Currently, Vi’s network reaches 97.7% of the population in these states.
Vi is set to expand L900 spectrum across key towns such as Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, Ambala, Panipat, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Karnal, and Kurukshetra in Punjab and Haryana to further improve network capabilities.
Strong Retail
Vi boasts a strong retail presence with 350 exclusive stores, including Vi Stores, Shops, and Mini Stores, along with a wide distribution network comprising nearly 800 distributors and 56,000 recharge outlets.
Digital Ecosystem
Abhijit Kishore, COO of Vodafone Idea, emphasized their commitment to providing customers with an excellent network experience through expanded 4G coverage and enhanced data services. Additionally, Vi has developed a digital ecosystem with partners to offer diverse services via the Vi App, including games, entertainment, cloud gaming, utility bill payments, and more.
