Vedanta Set to Shine: Board to Discuss 4th Interim Dividend Amid Record Aluminium and Zinc Output

Vedanta’s shares are expected to be in the spotlight next week as the company is set to consider its fourth interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25 during a board meeting on October 8. The company recently announced that the board will meet to discuss and approve the dividend.

In a filing, Vedanta said, “A board meeting will be held on October 8, 2024, to consider and approve the fourth interim dividend on equity shares for FY25.” If the dividend is approved, the record date to determine eligible shareholders will be October 16.

Over the last 12 months, Vedanta has declared dividends totaling Rs 46 per share. Based on the current share price of Rs 508.70, the company’s dividend yield stands at 9.04%, according to Trendlyne data.

In other news, Vedanta recently reported its highest-ever quarterly and half-yearly aluminium production, reaching 1,205 kilotonnes in the first half of FY25. Alumina production also grew by 21% year-on-year.

The company saw record performance in its Zinc India segment as well, with mined metal production reaching new highs. Refined metal output also rose by 5% year-on-year to 524 kilotonnes in the first half of the financial year.

Vedanta’s shares remained steady on Friday, closing at Rs 508.90 on the BSE.
