The upcoming week will see a shortened trading schedule in the Indian stock market as both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed for two days. According to the stock market holidays 2024 schedule available on the BSE website, trading will be suspended on Monday, March 25th, 2024, for the Holi festival. Following Holi, the next stock market holiday will be on Friday, March 29th, 2024, for Good Friday. With these two holidays, the trading week will only consist of three sessions from Tuesday to Thursday.
The list of stock market holidays 2024 indicates that there will be no trading in the Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment, and SLB Segment on these days. Additionally, trading in the Currency Derivatives Segments will also be suspended.
Regarding the commodity market, trading on the MCX and NCDEX will be closed during the morning session on Monday but will resume in the evening. However, on Good Friday, trading on MCX will remain suspended for the entire session.
Looking ahead, Good Friday marks the last stock market holiday for March 2024. In April 2024, there will be two holidays on April 11th and April 17th for Eid-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Eid) and Ram Navami celebration, respectively.
Last week, domestic equities followed a global rally after the US and UK central banks maintained unchanged rates. The Nifty 50 index closed higher, led by gains in sectors like Auto, Pharma, and Realty, while the IT sector saw some selling pressure following a revenue forecast revision by US technology major Accenture for FY24.
