Ramkrishna Forgings Ltd announced on Monday that it has secured a ₹270 crore order from a consortium led by BHEL. The order is for supplying bogie frames for Vande Bharat train sets. The project involves developing and testing the bogie frames for the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat trains.
The order includes 32 train sets, each consisting of 16 coaches. Ramkrishna Forgings will manufacture a total of 1,024 bogie frames for these train sets.
The ₹270 crore order is to be delivered to the BHEL TRSL consortium. Lalit Kumar Khetan, Whole Time Director & CFO of Ramkrishna Forgings Limited, expressed satisfaction at securing the prestigious order, highlighting the company’s commitment to excellence and innovation. He emphasized their support for the Make in India initiative and the development of rail transport in the country by utilizing their expertise in manufacturing high-quality bogie frames.
Ramkrishna Forgings, based in Kolkata, is known for manufacturing and supplying closed-die forgings of carbon and alloy steel, micro-alloy steel, and stainless steel forgings. The company also has operations in the US, Mexico, Turkey, and Belgium.
