Today on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), several stocks hit their highest prices in the past year. These include PTC Industries, Adani Power, GAIL, Power Finance Corp., and REC.
The NSE Nifty, a benchmark index, saw a significant increase of 733.21 points, closing at 23263.9. This rise was driven by buying in major blue-chip stocks.
On the flip side, some stocks hit their lowest prices in the past year. These include Filatex Fashions, Vaxtex Cotfab, Sintex Plastics Tech, Compuage Infocom, and Revathi Equipment.
In the Nifty 50 index, which represents the top 50 stocks on the NSE, Adani Ports SEZ, NTPC, SBI, Power Grid, and ONGC saw gains, while Eicher Motors, LTIMindtree, HCL Tech, Asian Paints, and Sun Pharma saw losses.
Overall, 42 stocks ended the day with gains in the Nifty50 index, while 8 ended with losses.
The BSE Sensex, another key index, closed with a significant increase of 2507.47 points, reaching 76468.78. Traders were active in sectors like Term Lending Institutions, Shipping, Gas & Petroleum, Power, and Industrial Equipment, while sectors like Trading, Hospitals & Allied Services, Paper, Rubber, and Apparels saw selling.
