Indian Stocks See Massive Block Deals Worth Over ₹13,000 Crore This Week: Adani Ports, HDFC Bank, Vodafone Idea Among Top Stocks

In a highly active week, the Nifty index gained 2.2%, or 490 points, over four sessions, reaching a lifetime high of 23,000. Over ₹13,000 crore worth of block deals were recorded, involving more than three dozen companies from large, mid, and small-cap segments.

Large-Cap Segment: Fifteen large-cap companies saw significant block deals totaling ₹5,671 crore. Leading the pack was Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) with deals worth ₹1,380 crore. Other notable companies included:

  • HDFC Bank: ₹663 crore
  • IndusInd Bank: ₹632 crore
  • Kotak Mahindra Bank: ₹572 crore
  • GAIL India: ₹312 crore
  • Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M): ₹283 crore
  • Sun Pharmaceuticals: ₹281 crore
  • Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL): ₹196 crore

Additional companies with deals between ₹217 crore and ₹95 crore included InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Hindalco Industries, HCL Technologies, Apollo Hospitals, Pidilite Industries, Bharat Electronics (BEL), and Shree Cement.

Mid-Cap Segment: Twelve mid-cap companies saw prominent block deals worth ₹5,357 crore. The top performers were:

  • Star Health Insurance: ₹2,211 crore
  • Apollo Tyres: ₹1,125 crore
  • Info Edge (India): ₹432 crore
  • CG Power & Industries: ₹419 crore

Other notable companies with deals between ₹278 crore and ₹75 crore included Honeywell Automation, Vodafone Idea, Zydus Lifesciences, Coforge, Macrotech Developers, Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), Persistent Systems, and Polycab India.

Small-Cap Segment: Twelve small-cap companies recorded block deals worth ₹2,031 crore. The top three were:

  • Aptus Value Housing: ₹1,063 crore
  • Granules India: ₹236 crore
  • IRB Infrastructure Developers: ₹143 crore

Other small-cap companies with deals between ₹130 crore and ₹39 crore included Garden Reach Shipbuilders, Global Health (Medanta), JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Aarti Pharma, Apar Industries, Maharashtra Seamless, Blue Dart Express, Dr. Lal Pathlabs, and Narayana Hrudayalaya.

Prominent Bulk, Block, and Insider Deals: Nuvama reported key bulk, block, and insider deals in six stocks. For instance, Apollo Tyres had nine buyers and one seller, White Iris Investment, which sold shares worth ₹1,073 crore. Top buyers included:

  • ICICI Pru MF: ₹200 crore
  • Morgan Stanley Sgx Pte: ₹192 crore
  • Societe Generale: ₹134 crore

Star Health & Allied Insurance saw four sellers and eight buyers, with sellers including Roc Star Invest Trust and Milo Star, and buyers like Morgan Stanley Sgx Pte, Plutus Wealth Manage, and HDFC MF.

Other stocks with notable deals included Aptus Value Housing Finance, Granules India, Coforge, and Protean Egov.
