Hyundai Motor India announced a new partnership with Charge Zone on Wednesday to enhance electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in India. According to their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Charge Zone will install DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 Hyundai dealerships across the country. This collaboration is intended to help expand the public EV charging network in India.
The new charging stations will be strategically located at Hyundai dealerships, making it easier for EV users to charge their vehicles during both intercity and intracity travel. This setup aims to alleviate concerns about running out of battery and encourage more people to adopt electric vehicles.
Jae Wan Ryu, Hyundai Motor India’s Head of Corporate Planning, emphasized the importance of improving EV charging infrastructure to support India’s push towards electric mobility and reduce range anxiety among customers. He mentioned that such strategic partnerships are essential for accelerating the shift to electric vehicles and reaching India’s carbon neutrality goals.
Currently, Hyundai has 19 dealerships that already feature DC 60 kW public EV charging stations.
