Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) is among 19 companies, including Symphony and Pfizer, that will be in the spotlight today as they have set August 21 as the record date to determine which shareholders will receive dividends.
HAL’s board previously declared a final dividend of ₹13 per share for eligible shareholders back in June.
The company stated, “At our board meeting, we recommended a final dividend of ₹13 per fully paid share for the financial year 2023-24. This will be paid to eligible shareholders within 30 days of approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). The record date for this dividend is Wednesday, August 21, 2024.”
This means today is the last day to buy shares of HAL and other listed companies if you want to be eligible for their dividends.
To receive dividends, you must be listed as a shareholder on the company’s record date. Shares need to be purchased at least one day before the ex-date because transactions take a day to settle. If you buy shares on the ex-date, you won’t qualify for dividends.
