In a recent announcement, the state-owned Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) revealed that it has successfully clinched orders totaling Rs 847.84 crore. This impressive sum includes a significant project from the finance ministry. The company has been awarded a contract worth Rs 665.84 crore (plus taxes) from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance. The project’s scope entails the supply, installation, and maintenance of IT and networking infrastructure, along with field IT support and centralized management and monitoring.
BEL stated in a filing to BSE that the maintenance support will be extended for a period of five years, encompassing the implementation period. This project stands out as one of the most substantial civilian endeavors secured through competitive means by BEL in the ongoing financial year.
Additionally, BEL has received orders amounting to Rs 182 crore for miscellaneous spares and services. With these recent developments, the cumulative orders received by BEL in the current fiscal year now stand at an impressive Rs 28,494 crore.
