Adani Green Energy Ltd is looking to invest around ₹2 lakh crore by 2030 to expand its renewable energy capacities.
Their goal is to increase their renewable energy portfolio to about 45 GW by 2030, up from the current 10.9 GW. Most of this growth will happen in Khavda, Gujarat’s Kutch district, where they aim to expand capacity to 30 GW from the current 2 GW.
Around ₹50,000 crore of the total investment will go towards capacities outside of Khavda, totaling around 6-7 GW, according to a company official.
Currently, Adani Green’s total capacity includes 7,393 MW of solar, 1,401 MW of wind, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid. The Khavda project, which is the world’s largest renewable energy park, is expected to reach 6 GW capacity by the end of this fiscal year, said Adani Green’s managing director Vneet Jaain.
Adani New Industries Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd, plans to invest more than ₹30,000 crore by 2030 to expand its capacity in manufacturing solar and wind energy equipment. They aim to reach 5 GW of wind turbine manufacturing capacity by FY27, up from 1.5 GW currently. Additionally, they plan to add 10 GW capacity in solar modules manufacturing in the next three and a half years.
Adani Green will source solar panels and modules from Adani New Industries. However, they clarified that the sourcing for the generation unit is different from the manufacturing unit. In cases where restrictions apply to sourcing, Adani Green will source modules locally if no foreign companies are allowed in the future.”
