Maharashtra RERA Cancels Registration of Over 13,000 Real Estate Agents

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has taken action by cancelling the registration of 13,785 real estate agents who did not renew their licenses since 2017.

These agents will need to undergo prescribed training and obtain certification if they wish to resume their work as property brokers, as stated by the regulator.

The list of these nearly 14,000 delisted real estate agents has been made public on the regulator’s website. The majority of these agents, totaling 6,291, were from Mumbai city and suburbs, followed by 3,075 from Thane and 2,349 from Pune.

While some new agents have joined and registered with MahaRERA, the overall number has decreased due to non-renewal of licenses.

Recently, MahaRERA conducted the fourth round of examinations for real estate agents. Out of 1,767 candidates who appeared for the test, 1,527 successfully passed.”
