Reliance-NVIDIA Team Up to Power India’s AI Revolution: Mukesh Ambani Predicts India as the World’s AI Leader

At the NVIDIA AI Summit 2024 in Mumbai, NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, announced a new partnership between Reliance and NVIDIA to build advanced AI infrastructure in India. The collaboration aims to strengthen India’s position in artificial intelligence.

Huang emphasized the importance of AI technology, data, and infrastructure, saying, “For leading in AI, you need advanced model technology, and India has that. Now, we’re partnering with Reliance to create the necessary AI infrastructure. With India’s large population, this will be a major advantage.”

Mukesh Ambani, Managing Director of Reliance Industries, expressed optimism about India’s role in AI. He said, “India will become one of the biggest intelligence markets. Our large pool of talented youth will drive AI development, not just for India, but for the global market as well. Indians won’t just export CEOs anymore—we’ll export AI services too.”

Huang supported Ambani’s vision, stating that India, once known for exporting software, will soon become a key player in AI exports. He added, “I look forward to working together to place India at the heart of this new industrial revolution.”

Ambani continued by calling the current phase a “knowledge revolution” that is turning into an “intelligence revolution,” which will create global prosperity. He believes India is on the verge of a new age of intelligence.

Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ambani said, “India is a young and aspirational nation, with an average age of 1.4 billion people under 35. It’s this youthful energy and ambition, along with new technologies like AI, that is driving our economy.”

Ambani credited Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for transforming India into a digital society and emphasized that India is becoming an innovation hub, with a focus on digital progress rather than manufacturing.

Highlighting India’s digital infrastructure, Ambani stated, “Apart from the US and China, India has one of the best digital infrastructures with 4G, 5G, and broadband connectivity, which are key to our future growth in AI.”
