Diwali Flight Sale: Air India Slashes Fares for Festive Travel

Air India and other domestic airlines are joining in on the Diwali flight sale, offering discounts on airfare for the 2024 festive season. Full-service airlines are trying to compete with low-cost carriers by providing attractive pricing.

According to a report by news agency PTI, an analysis by travel portal Ixigo found that average airfares on various domestic routes have dropped by 20 to 25 percent this Diwali season compared to last year. This decrease is linked to increased airline capacity and lower oil prices.

Air India Offers

Air India is providing special fares for festive travel. One-way tickets to and from Singapore start at ₹7,445, with bookings open from October 8 to 14. The offer allows travel anytime between October 8 and November 30.

International travelers flying to and from Singapore can purchase tickets for as low as S$500 (around ₹32,231). This offer is valid for bookings until October 14 and travel until March 20, 2025.

For flights to Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, tickets start at ₹32,611, available until November 17 for travel until March 20, 2025. Passengers can also get 10% off business class and 5% off economy class tickets from Delhi or Mumbai.

Additionally, Air India is offering an instant discount of ₹200 per passenger on one-way domestic flights until November 30. Other deals include savings on EMI payments, net banking, and UPI payments, along with regular bank offers.

Vistara Offers

As of now, Vistara’s website does not show any special offers. However, due to the merger with Air India, Vistara will stop operations in November. Ticket sales for certain routes will gradually shift to Air India starting September 3, 2024.

Indigo Offers

Indigo previously offered tickets starting at ₹1,111 until September 30 but has not announced any new deals for Diwali yet. They provide up to 10% off for direct bookings on their website and app, along with various bank-affiliated and cashback offers.

International Airlines

International airlines like Qatar Airways are also getting in on the action, offering 25% off business class and 20% off economy class tickets to celebrate Diwali.
