Vodafone Idea Signs ₹14K Crore Deal with Ericsson for Major 4G and 5G Expansion

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has signed a ₹14,000 crore deal with Sweden’s Ericsson to expand its 4G network and roll out 5G over the next three years. The contract covers 10 regions including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala, and more.

Ericsson will provide advanced 4G and 5G base stations in these areas and upgrade existing networks, expanding its role in powering Vi’s telecom services. This partnership is part of Vi’s larger plan to spend ₹30,000 crore on equipment from Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung for better 4G services and 5G deployment in key regions.

The deal marks Vi’s second major contract after a recent agreement with Nokia. Vi’s CEO Akshaya Moondra said this collaboration will help modernize Vi’s network, improve data management, and enhance the overall customer experience. Ericsson’s innovative technology will ensure faster, more reliable 5G services for Vi’s customers.
