BookMyShow has filed a complaint with the Vile Parle Police in Mumbai over illegal ticket sales for Coldplay’s upcoming concert in January 2025 at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
The complaint accuses an unidentified person of black marketing tickets and has been registered under Section 66(C) of the Information Technology Act and relevant sections of the Bombay (BNS) Act. An investigation is currently underway.
BookMyShow stated that ticket sales started on September 22, with clear warnings to customers not to buy from third-party sellers. Despite this, the company received emails from two individuals who were trying to buy the maximum number of tickets, indicating they had already promised them to others and collected payment. Additionally, there were multiple WhatsApp messages from others making similar requests, which were ignored by the platform.
Thanks to BookMyShow’s quick response, a formal investigation is now in progress to address the illegal sale of tickets for the highly anticipated Coldplay concert.
