Apple Expands Presence in India: Four New Flagship Stores and Full iPhone Production

Apple is set to significantly expand its operations in India by opening four more flagship stores and has started manufacturing all iPhone models locally. This announcement comes shortly after the launch of the iPhone 16 series.

The tech giant has begun producing the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models in India, marking the first time the company is making its entire iPhone lineup in the country. “Apple is now manufacturing the entire iPhone 16 lineup, including the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, in India,” the company stated in a recent announcement.

The locally made Pro models, which are more complex to manufacture than the standard versions, will not only be available to Indian customers but will also be exported to select countries. “Manufactured in India, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will soon be available for our local customers and for export worldwide,” the company confirmed.

In addition to local production, Apple is enhancing its retail footprint in India with plans for more flagship Apple Stores. Future stores are slated to open in major cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, and Mumbai. “We’re thrilled to build our teams as we plan to open more stores in India, because we’re inspired by the creativity and passion of our customers across this country,” said Diedre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail, in a statement.
