This week, there were major block deals worth over ₹43,068 crore across more than three dozen companies in the large, mid, and small-cap segments. Despite the Nifty gaining 1.6% over the week, the stock market was buzzing with significant trading activity.
Large-Cap Highlights
In the large-cap segment, 15 companies saw substantial block deals totaling ₹34,345 crore. The biggest deal was with HDFC Bank, which had 528 block transactions worth ₹19,131 crore. Other notable companies included InterGlobe Aviation (Indigo) with deals worth ₹12,033 crore, followed by Trent (₹569 crore), Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) (₹317 crore), Kotak Mahindra Bank (₹293 crore), ICICI Bank (₹292 crore), and Grasim Industries (₹255 crore).
Additionally, companies like Avenue Supermarts (DMart), Jio Financial Services, Infosys, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Power, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, NTPC, and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) also saw block deals ranging between ₹240 crore and ₹121 crore.
Mid-Cap Highlights
In the mid-cap segment, 12 companies experienced significant block deals totaling ₹5,694 crore. PB Fintech (Policybazaar) led the pack with a deal worth ₹1,713 crore, followed by Tata Technologies (₹1,284 crore), AU Small Finance Bank (₹911 crore), and Star Health Insurance (₹429 crore). Other companies like Gland Pharma, GMR Airports Infrastructure, Vodafone Idea, Dixon Technologies, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Gujarat Fluorochemicals, MPhasis, and SKF India had deals ranging from ₹361 crore to ₹91 crore.
Small-Cap Highlights
In the small-cap segment, block deals worth ₹3,029 crore were made across 12 companies. Medplus Health topped the list with deals amounting to ₹905 crore, followed by GMM Pfaudler (₹557 crore) and Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (₹392 crore). Other companies such as Aavas Financiers, Rolex Rings, Electronics Mart, Amber Enterprises, Chola Financial, Kesoram Industries, Manappuram Finance, Welspun Enterprises, and Hindustan Copper saw deals between ₹336 crore and ₹62 crore.
Bulk, Block, and Insider Deals
Nuvama, a brokerage firm, also reported notable bulk, block, and insider deals in 12 stocks, detailing the buyers and sellers involved. For instance, Tata Technologies sold shares worth ₹1,230 crore, while Copthall Mauritius bought shares worth ₹406 crore, and Ghisallo Master acquired shares worth ₹316 crore. Other significant transactions included Dodona Holdings selling ₹470 crore worth of Trent shares, which were then bought by Siddhartha Yog.
Medplus Health, AU Small Finance, Welspun Living, GMM Pfaudler, KIMS, Aavas Financiers, Electronics Mart, Wonder Electricals, and Rolex Rings also saw prominent deals involving bulk, block, and insider transactions.
