JSW Neo Energy Wins Big: Secures 200 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project from MSEDCL

JSW Neo Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has secured a contract to develop a 200 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. This project was awarded by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) through a competitive bidding process, according to a statement from JSW Energy.

With this new project, JSW Energy’s total committed generation capacity has now reached 17.2 GW. This includes 2.9 GW of hybrid capacity, which covers wind, solar, and other renewable energy sources.

Currently, JSW Energy operates 7.5 GW of power generation capacity, with an additional 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro power projects. The company also has a renewable energy pipeline of 7.3 GW, with power purchase agreements (PPAs) already signed for 2.3 GW.

JSW Energy aims to increase its total installed capacity to 10 GW by the fiscal year 2025, up from the current 7.5 GW. The company is also working on expanding its energy storage capabilities, with 4.2 GWh of capacity locked in through battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects.

Looking ahead, JSW Energy has set a goal to reach 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. The company is also committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
