Gautam Adani’s Ambuja Cement Unveils Rs 1600 Crore Cement Project in Warisaliganj, Bihar

Gautam Adani’s Adani Cement is investing Rs 1,600 crore to build a new cement grinding unit in Warisaliganj, Bihar. This major project will increase the company’s production capacity and is expected to significantly boost the local economy by creating many job opportunities. The facility will produce 6 million tonnes of cement per year.

The 3 Phases

The project will be done in three phases. The first phase, costing Rs 1,100 crore and producing 2.4 million tonnes per year, is set to be completed by December 2025.

Adani Group stated in a press release, “We have set aside enough land for future expansion at a much lower cost.”

New Cement Unit

The new cement unit will be located in Mosama village, Tehsil Warisaliganj, District Nawada, Bihar. The site has good transportation links, with the Warisaliganj railway station only 1 km away and State Highway 83 just 500 meters from the site.

This new facility is expected to transform the region by providing both direct and indirect job opportunities and supporting Bihar’s growing infrastructure needs. Adani Cement’s investment aligns with their goal of promoting sustainable infrastructure development in Bihar and throughout India.

Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA)

At a foundation stone-laying ceremony hosted by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his excitement: “This investment by the Adani Group shows Bihar’s growth potential and our commitment to sustainable development for our people.” This project is expected to boost infrastructure, contribute about Rs 250 crore per year to the state’s revenue, and create 250 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs.

Karan Adani, Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director at Ambuja Cement, shared his enthusiasm on social media, stating, “We are thrilled to announce this significant investment, which will create numerous job opportunities and help the local economy. Adani Cement is well-prepared to support sustainable infrastructure development in Bihar and across India.”

Pranav Adani, Managing Director (Agro, Oil & Gas) and Director at Adani Enterprises Limited, was also present at the event. He remarked, “This investment aligns with the state government’s development programs and our growth plans. The cement industry is seeing healthy volumes due to the government’s focus on infrastructure, and Ambuja Cements is ready to support sustainable infrastructure development in the country.”

He added, “We look forward to working with the state government, authorities, and local communities on this and future projects. The state government’s support in quickly providing all necessary permits has made this significant investment possible in a short time.”

BIADA has allocated 67.90 acres of land for this cement unit, and environmental clearance for the project has been obtained. Work on this project is expected to start soon.
