Gensol Engineering Ltd announced on Monday that it has won a bid to develop 116 megawatts (MW) of solar projects in Gujarat. These projects will be spread across 27 locations and are part of a contract with Paschim Gujarat Vij Co. Ltd. (PGVCL), the state electricity distribution company.
In their statement, Gensol Engineering revealed that the projects have an estimated Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) revenue of around ₹600 crore. The projects are expected to be completed and operational within 12 months after receiving the Letter of Award (LoA).
The goal of these projects is feeder-level solarisation, where solar power projects are set up to meet the energy needs of single or multiple agricultural feeders from a distribution sub-station.
Gensol Engineering is a major player in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar power EPC services and electric mobility solutions.
