BMW to Launch CE 04 Electric Scooter in India, Poised to Become the Most Expensive E-Scooter Alongside Tata Punch EV

BMW Motorrad is gearing up to introduce its CE 04 electric scooter in India on July 24, with pre-launch bookings already underway. Expected to carry a price tag of Rs 10 lakh, the CE 04 could potentially become India’s most expensive scooter.

At this price point, the CE 04 surpasses even some electric cars like the MG Comet EV (starting from Rs 6.99 lakh) and the Tata Tiago EV (starting from Rs 7.99 lakh). It’s priced similarly to the popular Tata Punch EV, which starts at Rs 10.99 lakh.

BMW CE 04

The BMW CE 04, first showcased in December, features a sleek, low-profile design with a distinctively rising front end. It boasts a flat bench-type seat, sharp bodywork, and twin pod headlights. Built on a sturdy steel frame, the scooter includes advanced suspension systems and 15-inch wheels for enhanced stability and performance.

Key features of the CE 04 include all-LED lighting, a large 10.25-inch digital display with navigation and connectivity options, dual-channel ABS, and optional safety enhancements like dynamic traction control and ABS pro.

CE 04

Powering the CE 04 is a 9 kWh battery paired with a liquid-cooled electric motor, delivering 41 bhp of power and 62 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-50 kph in just 2.6 seconds and boasts a top speed of 120 kph. The scooter offers a claimed range of 130 km on a single charge and supports fast charging, allowing it to recharge in 1 hour and 40 minutes.

BMW’s entry into the Indian electric scooter market with the CE 04 signifies a significant step towards offering premium electric mobility options to Indian consumers.
