Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) officials to discuss setting up a large petrochemical complex. The project could attract investments worth ₹70,000 crore.
Naidu met BPCL chairman and managing director G Krishna Kumar at the secretariat to explore this opportunity. “We explored the establishment of an oil refinery and petrochemical complex in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of ₹60,000 to ₹70,000 crore,” Naidu posted on X.
He instructed officials to prepare a detailed feasibility report within 90 days, emphasizing the state’s strategic location on the east coast and its potential for petrochemicals.
The CM mentioned that the project would require up to 5,000 acres of land and assured that the state government would facilitate the process smoothly.
BPCL, a Maharatna public sector undertaking and Fortune 500 company, is involved in oil refining and fuel retailing.
