Patanjali Stops Sale of 14 Products After Licensing Issue; Check details

Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved Ltd has ceased the sale of 14 products following the suspension of their manufacturing licences by the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority in April. The company informed the Supreme Court that it has directed 5,606 franchise stores to withdraw these products from shelves and has instructed media platforms to remove advertisements related to these items.

Court Proceedings and Affidavit Requirement

Patanjali Ayurved Ltd has been directed by the court to file an affidavit confirming the removal of advertisements from social media platforms and other channels. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on July 30.

The Supreme Court is currently addressing a plea by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) alleging a campaign by Patanjali against the Covid vaccination drive and modern medicine systems. The court had emphasized that products cannot be sold once their licences are suspended, highlighting concerns over misleading advertisements by Patanjali.

Earlier, the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority had suspended manufacturing licences for 14 products from Patanjali Ayurved Ltd and Divya Pharmacy, prompting legal scrutiny and court directives on the matter.
