Del Monte Foods, a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Del Monte Pacific Ltd, has named Abhinav Kapoor as its new CEO, effective immediately. Kapoor will lead the senior leadership team and guide the company’s long-term strategy. He will also focus on both B2B and B2C markets, according to Harjeet Kohli, joint managing director of Bharti Enterprises.

Kapoor was previously the vice president of sales at VIP Industries, overseeing profits, multiple sales channels, and distribution. With over 20 years of experience, he has held leadership roles at Cavinkare, Britannia Industries, Mondelez, and Marico. He succeeds Mahesh Kanchan as CEO.

Del Monte Foods sells various products in India, including juice drinks, olive oil, pasta, mayonnaise, ketchup, and dried and canned fruits.

Bharti Enterprises and E.L. Rothschild formed FieldFresh Foods in 2004 to produce and export fresh vegetables and fruits. In 2007, Del Monte Pacific Ltd acquired a 40.1% stake in FieldFresh Foods for $20.8 million. Bharti continues to hold a 50% stake, with Rothschild as a minority partner. In 2021, FieldFresh Foods was renamed Del Monte Foods Pvt Ltd to better focus on branded processed foods and retail businesses. Nearly half of Del Monte’s business in India comes from the retail segment, with the rest from the B2B segment.
